Ballardes versus Martinelli over Casino Interests
The former president of Panama Mr Ernesto Perez Balladares has suggested that current President Martinelli is responsible for alleging his, Ballardes, involvement in a company specifically operating games of chance. Martinelli who claims to have a legitimate share in the Thunderbird company, which owns and operates Fiesta Casino in Panama, stated that Ballardes is looking after his interests and raising unnecessary attention to Martinelli’s private investments, which are legitimate, and in essence public knowledge. Ballardes has denied any involvement in any company operating or participating in games of chance or any casino operations.
